I’m just a gal and her grief curating a space at the intersections of life, loss, and connection with honesty, humour, and heart.
After studying broadcasting, I worked in TV which led into marketing, then animal advocacy found me. I eventually left my screen behind for the friendly skies and became a flight attendant before landing in HR.
While I don’t have any professional training in fertility, I do like to think I’ve personally earned a Bachelor’s degree in the field. It took three years to earn my Journalism degree from Concordia University and that is now how long I’ve been learning about all things fertility (and sometimes futility).
I was on the honours list when I was in school. Had a high GPA. Sat at the front of the class. Typical over achiever so you could imagine how frustrating it was when I wasn’t getting pregnant naturally.
Thank goodness for science and fertility treatments (some of which are covered here by the Québec healthcare system).
I’ve experienced two missed miscarriages. It’s a grief unlike anything I’ve ever known. After this most recent loss, I decided it’s time to write it out cathartically for myself and perhaps for you, gentle reader.
There is room for everyone here. You are seen. You are held. Your babies are loved and remembered.
With compassion,
Kim
